Microlyte® – Next Generation Wound Care

SAMatrix™ Technology has the ability to integrate various agents to be a one-product solution, facilitating multiple steps across the wound healing process.

A fully synthetic and porous matrix composed of bioresorbable polymers, SAMatrix™ immediately conforms to micro-textures of the wound with full transparency.1-3

It facilitates a cytophilic, non-pyrogenic, moist wound-healing environment that allows for cells to attach, adhere, migrate and proliferate.1-3

The matrix contains ionic and metallic silver at a low, non-toxic level, providing at least 72 hours of sustained, 99.99% reduction in microbial burden.4†

Microlyte® is indicated for:

  • Partial and full-thickness chronic wounds, including pressure ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers;
  • Surgical wounds, including donor sites, use over debrided and grafted partial thickness wounds, post Moh’s surgery, post laser surgery, podiatry, dehisced wounds;
  • Traumatic wounds, including first and second-degree burns, abrasions, lacerations, skin tears.

Debridement and removal of necrotic tissue is recommended before matrix placement.

Laboratory and pre-clinical studies indicate that the components of the matrix allow for healthy cell and new blood vessel growth in wounds. The metallic and ionic silver allows for the sustained release of antimicrobial activity. This product can be used with other adjunctive therapies.

Microlyte®

Clinically Proven

Published clinical data in the November 2020 edition of WOUNDS journal shows the clinical results of using Microlyte® for chronic wounds. Thirty-two patients with various chronic wounds were evaluated.  All wounds were non-healing for a median of 39 weeks (range, 3-137 weeks).

At 3 weeks:  79% closure in responsive DFU patients. 60% closure in responsive venous stasis ulcers. 72% of all wounds had significantly improved healing with an average wound area reduction of 66%.

At 12 weeks:  91% of wounds either healed completely or improved significantly with an average wound area reduction of 73%.

The application of Microlyte® was safe and well tolerated, and it facilitated improvements in healing of a majority of the complex chronic wounds studied.8
